Back in the shop yesterday and finally built the little fret bender that has been on my to-do list for about a year. Total material cost less than $1.00. It's simpler than other benders I have seen, but still works fine. I will post a materials list and schematic shortly.

Found this one via fastcompany. An interesting and sleek take on a travel guitar by Blackbird Guitars in San Francisco. I like the asymetric placement of the sound hole, with controls hidden in the cavity, very clean.

Increased volume and sustain are the result of a larger body and limited seams made possible through the high tech carbonfiber shell. The neck has a sound hole that connects to the cavity as well!

I made a new pickguard for the DF-1 before handing it over to Jeremy for beta testing. It's a work in progress; a tortoise shell built up by alternating layers of amber and black tinted shellac on chip board. The finished product is pretty nice, with a little bit of unintentional distressing due to over sanding

Found this on BoingBoing this afternoon. The cantar by Mark Frauenfelder, is a simple two string resonating guitar. Besides being really curious about what this thing might sound like, the aesthetic is growing on me. Simple, clean and a bit strange. excellent.
